Democrats Descend on Florida Following State Supreme Court Abortion Rulings
The Florida Supreme Court issued two abortion-related rulings on Monday, unleashing “a frenzy of campaigning among Democrats eager to turn the Sunshine State back into the nation’s most important battleground,” Axios reported.
The state’s high court upheld a 15-week limit on abortion, while also paving the way for a six-week abortion limit that was passed last year. The court also allowed a proposed amendment that would enshrine the right to abortion in the state constitution up to about 24 weeks of pregnancy to appear on the ballot in November.
Within 24 hours of the decisions, President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign and top Democrats began mobilizing and fundraising, hoping to galvanize Florida voters around the issue of abortion, while also pulling more votes for themselves in a state with a massive Republican advantage. Florida Republicans led Democrats by 854,318 registered voters as of early March, according to Florida’s Voice, which looked at voter registration data at the county level. Read more here
Planned Parenthood Faces New Allegations Of Selling Aborted Fetal Tissue To UCSD
Newly-released documents reveal an alleged alliance between Planned Parenthood and the University of California–San Diego to profit from the “harvesting and sale” of aborted human fetuses for research patents.
“This new evidence shows Planned Parenthood sells late-term aborted baby body parts in violation of federal law, for far more money than has ever been discussed before,” said David Daleiden, founder and president of California-based Center for Medical Progress, which filed the public records request, in a statement earlier this month. “Planned Parenthood’s national headquarters knew about and approved these sales of aborted babies for valuable consideration as part of government-funded research grants.” Read more here
Abortion Drugs Used in 63% of U.S. Abortions in 2023
Medication abortions accounted for 63 percent of all abortions in the United States in 2023, up from 53 percent in 2020, according to a report from the pro- abortion Guttmacher Institute.
In the first full calendar year following the U.S. Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade — which had for 50 years invented a Constitutional “right” to abortion — approximately 642,700 unborn babies were killed via medication abortions within the health care system, the institute’s Monthly Abortion Provision Study found. 2023 Saw Highest Number of Abortions in ‘More Than a Decade’
Last year saw “the highest number and rate of abortions measured in the United States in more than a decade,” according to a report from the pro- abortion Guttmacher Institute.
In 2023 — the first full calendar year following the U.S. Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade — there were an estimated 1,026,690 unborn babies killed in abortions in the formal U.S. health care system and a rate of 15.7 abortions per 1,000 women of reproductive age, the institute’s Monthly Abortion Provision Study found. That number is a ten percent increase in abortions from 2020.

Kamala Harris prompts outrage with historic tour of Minnesota abortion clinic
Vice President Kamala Harris prompted backlash from some pro-life groups for her scheduled Thursday visit to a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in Minnesota as part of her ongoing nationwide “Reproductive Freedoms” tour.
Harris, whose tour of the facility in St. Paul marks the first time a sitting president or vice president has visited an abortion clinic, plans to speak with staff and hear how abortion bans in neighboring states have impacted Minnesota, according to NBC News.
Minnesota, which has no restrictions on the procedure, enacted a law last year stipulating that “every individual who becomes pregnant has a fundamental right to continue the pregnancy and give birth, or obtain an abortion, and to make autonomous decisions about how to exercise this fundamental right.” Read more here
Mother-to-be murdered for refusing abortion
A British man is on trial after authorities say he stabbed and killed his pregnant girlfriend because she wouldn’t have an abortion.
Filmon Andmichaen, 31, is said to have brutally murdered 26-year-old Liwam Bereket, who was six-months pregnant with their child. Andmichaen and Bereket were in a relationship, although Andmichaen was married to another woman. Doctors attempted an emergency C-section to save the baby after Bereket’s body was found, but the child was stillborn. More here
French Parliament to Vote on Making Abortion a Constitutional Right
A bill to enshrine a woman’s right to an abortion in the French constitution goes to a historic vote on Monday, as lawmakers gather for a joint session of parliament at the Palace of Versailles.
The measure was promised by President Emmanuel Macron following a rollback of abortion rights in court rulings in the United States.
Macron´s government wants Article 34 of the French constitution amended to specify that “the law determines the conditions by which is exercised the freedom of women to have recourse to an abortion, which is guaranteed.”
The lower house of parliament, the National Assembly, overwhelmingly approved the proposal in January. The Senate adopted the bill on Wednesday, clearing a key hurdle for legislation promised by Macron’s government, intended to make “a woman´s right to have an abortion irreversible.” More here
Planned Parenthood sold aborted baby parts in exchange for intellectual property
Planned Parenthood is allegedly transferring “proprietary” aborted baby body parts to the University of California San Diego (UCSD) “in exchange for ownership of the university’s ‘patents’ and ‘intellectual property’” created through experiments.
The Center for Medical Progress (CMP) obtained documents showing the alleged transaction between the abortion organization and the university after filing a public records request. More here
Montana Judge Tosses 3 Pro-Life Laws, Including One Banning Abortions After 20 Weeks
A Montana judge ruled Thursday that three of the state’s laws limiting abortion were unconstitutional, according to the Daily Montanan.
The laws banned abortion after 20 weeks and by way of telehealth services, as well as required a 24-hour waiting period and two ultrasounds. District Court Judge Kurt Krueger sided with Planned Parenthood of Montana, who filed the lawsuit, arguing that the government should not be able to “infringe” on bodily autonomy any more than it can force someone to have an abortion, according to the Daily Montanan.
