Just a few thoughts as I ponder what I am thankful for this Christmas morn.
I was napping at 4:30 am this Christmas morn after being awakened around 12:30 am to Pray. I did so and could not go back to sleep. So I looked at the news and that prompted me to write a quick article. After doing so I got in my recliner to nap as I did not want to go back in and awaken Josie my wife.
My thoughts turned to the classic movie “It’s a Wonderful Life” the Original one. I believe they did a remake and remakes are crap!
Anyway, if you have seen the movie ole George Bailey was given a chance to see what life would be like without him and the influence he had on others.
That got me to thinking perhaps it would be better if I had not born or traveled the paths I did making wrong decisions.
Then common sense and the Holy Spirit took over!
Jesus was Born and Died on the Cross to take away the Sin and wash clean the heart and lives of those who believe and accept his sacrifice!
So that is why I say “Sometimes it is NOT a Wonderful Life”, But can be, once you turn your life over to Jesus Christ.
We do however “reap what we sow”! Galatians 6:7 “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
Jesus did not promise us a rose garden as Lynn Andrson sang in the 70’s, nor did he say it would be an easy life! He did not say he came the first time to bring peace! Just the opposite:
Luke 12:51-53 “Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: 52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.”
And
Matthew 10:21-22 “And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.”
What about the Children?
Proverbs 30:11-14 “There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother. 12 There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness. 13 There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up. 14 There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.”
Ephesians 6:2-3 “Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; 3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.”
That scripture would indicate that if you do NOT, you may see an early demise if you do not honor your parents!
There is so much hatred and division as of late, not just in the world in general, but in families. It is almost unbelievable! Demons are Manifesting like never before!
Jesus said John 15:18-21 “If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. 19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. 20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. 21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me.”
Psalms 59:12 “For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride: and for cursing and lying which they speak.”
The problem is people are selfish and greedy caught up in the desires of the flesh. They do not know God, and those that claim to, don’t HEED the Word of God! As Paul told Timothy, they are indeed WORSE then infidels!
1st Timothy 5:8 “But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.”
Paul also said in Galatians 4:16 “Am I therefore become your enemy because I tell you the truth?’
What is that truth? Jesus! John 14:6 ““Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
So if you know the Truth John 8:32 “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
If I could have one thing for Christmas, it would be that ALL of my family, blood or otherwise, would come to TRULY know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. If that were to happen, there would be unity, no in fighting and I love You would not be mere lip service!
THIS is the Promise that Jesus made!!
If you go to the store to buy Meat, don't run to the Milk section or the Junk Food aisle looking for it!!
The Meat Section is the True Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Milk Section is likened to those who will not preach on sin and Hell, just a feel good message, the Social gospel.
The Junk Food Isle is the outright false doctrine AKA the prosperity gospel, name it and claim it, the Hebraic Roots movement and other false teachings!!
Feasting on just Milk and Junk will eventually cause you great harm, you can count on it!!
