Virginia Teacher Fired for Refusing to Use Transgender Pronouns
A Virginia local school board decided to terminate a French teacher for his refusal to address a transgender student with their preferred pronouns on Thursday.
Peter Vlaming, 47, had been in an ongoing dispute with school officials over the matter, insisting that being forced to use trans pronouns would be a violation of his Christian religion.
Vlaming had taught at West Point High School for seven years, and many students and parents felt compelled to mount a campaign in his defense. However, it made no difference to the West Point School Board, which cast a 5-0 unanimous vote to terminate his employment with the school district as a result of the matter.
Vlaming’s dispute with a transgender student originated when the individual returned to his class for a second year after “transitioning” over the summer. Vlaming had agreed to refer to the student by their new male name, but wanted to avoid describe the individual as a ‘he,’ or ‘him.’ Read more here
Petition Urging Government to Uphold ‘Scientific Definition of Sex’ Gets Support Across Political Spectrum
More than 2,200 signatures of supporters from across the political spectrum are currently affixed to a petition that calls for the federal government to uphold the “scientific definition of sex” in federal law and policy.
In a letter accompanying the petition, which is addressed to Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker, Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar, and Department of Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, about 35 medical, legal, and policy professionals say they “applaud the Trump Administration’s intention to uphold the scientific definition of sex in federal law and policy, such that girls and women will regain their sex-based legal protections, and the human rights of all will be preserved.”
“What I like about the document is that it can appeal to a broad range of views,” endocrinologist Michael Laidlaw, MD, told Breitbart News. “So, I’m hoping that it gets broad support from right, left and center who recognize the importance of using biological sex in law rather than gender identity”: Read more here
Vatican Consultant Fr. James Martin Promotes Pro- LGBT Rosary
Jesuit priest Fr. James Martin, an American who pushes a pro- LGBT agenda in the Catholic Church and who was made a consultant to the Vatican’s Secretariat for Communications by Pope Francis, is now promoting a rosary (prayer beads) that includes a “rainbow” fifth decade for people to pray “for LGBT couples, their children, and extended families.”
It further calls for praying that gays be fully accepted as “truly created in the image of God, a creation that God saw as ‘good.'”
Fr. Martin has been denounced by many priests and laity for repeatedly misrepresenting Chruch teachings on homosexuality. For instance, Martin’s 2017 book, Building a Bridge: How the Catholic Church and the LGBT Community Can Enter Into a Relationship of Respect, Compassion and Sensitivity, was described by Fr. Gerald Murray as “a rejection” of Church teaching and an attempt to claim that the Church “has misunderstood God’s plan for human sexuality for her entire history.” More on this Fudge Packer here
Transgender Who Claimed He Brutally Murdered His Parents Because Of Gender Issues Sentenced To 40 Years
A transgender teenager who said he brutally murdered his parents because of his issues with gender identity was sentenced to 40 years in jail.
On October 31, 2016, Andrea Balcer, then 17, stabbed his parents, Alice and Antonio Balcer, to death at their home in Winthrop, Maine. Balcer claimed his mother had molested him for years and his father had physically and mentally abused him.
According to centralmaine.com, Balcer, born Andrew Balcer, plunged “a hunting knife into his mother’s back as she comforted him in his bedroom. He then slew his father and the family’s Chihuahua because it would not stop barking; he left his older brother Christopher alone. A 911 recording previously played in court almost a year ago recorded Balcer saying he stabbed his father when his father awakened after hearing his wife’s scream. His father fled into the bedroom, where Balcer stabbed him, leaving his father dead face-up on the floor.
Balcer had claimed in September 2018, “I wanted to grow up and be a woman. They kind of sat me down and told me and kind of physically forced into me that that was something that was not acceptable. I spent however many years being raised as a boy, as a man. It was drilled into me what men do, what they’re supposed to be. I was never raised the way I wanted to be. So I am conflicted between the person that I was raised to be and the person who I want to be.”
He added he wanted “people to kind of realize that my family seemed almost perfect on the outside: mother, father, two kids, a couple of animals. Nobody really thought there was anything going on. No one would think that two respectable people would ever do or have done such things. I just want people to know that even when something seems perfect, there might be something much more worse going on underneath.” Read more here
